An estimated 50,000 people attended the first ever Beaufort Street Festival last year and in 2011 the Festival is bigger and better than ever with a music program reflecting Perth’s independent music scene.

Beaufort Street, running through the centre of Highgate and Mt Lawley, offers a vibrant and dynamic street culture and an eclectic mix of music, art, food and fashion in a heritage streetscape – and Beaufort Street Festival celebrates everything that’s unique about the area as one of Perth’s most cutting edge retail and cafe strips

As one of the trendiest shopping hubs for retail therapy in Perth, Beaufort Street exudes a sense of cool, casual and sophisticated style. Celebrate the individual retailers and their contribution to the iconic street’s fashion scene. As part of the Fashion Program the Beaufort Street Festival’s STM Fashion Stage is showcasing the best of Beaufort Street, hosting a myriad of local boutiques and their unique looks.

Driven by the community and local businesses, the Festival’s strong creative focus and art direction reflects the unique style of Beaufort Street.

Beaufort Street has a great sense of community and there’s a whole bunch of fun and family orientated events to reflect this. Keep your eyes peeled for little and large artistic gems crafted by Sacred Heart and Highgate Primary Schools dotted along the strip.

Under the guidance of Dave Cutbush - Festival Director, the Beaufort Street Network has once again created a program of events that draws upon WA’s local talent and highlights the great sense of community in the area.

Beaufort Street's best will battle it out on stage with our Banana Bread Bake Off and Barista Competitions. Keep an eye out for our official program and cheer on your favorite barista and cafe on the day.

Located in the car park of Barlee Street, the YACWA stage will showcase a range of the best bands from WA in the pop, rock and electronic genres.

MCs Ben Ainslie and Jon Hopper will introduce the sounds of infectious indie-pop artist Georgi Kay, the old-timey folk of David Craft’s The Big Old Bears, country-folk six-piece Ruby Boots, and the jazzy-blues of the Tom O'Halloran Trio. Also gracing us is punk-folk royalty

The secret is out…  Beaufort Street is no longer just a haven for locals – it’s everyone’s favourite strip to dine and drink. Home to many of Perth's most cherished venues from cheerful cafes to prestigious fine dining, clubs, pubs and small bars – Beaufort Street is foodie heaven

Hosted by special guest MCs Peter Barr and Sarah Tout from RTRFM, you can catch reclusive folk artist Louis Inglis and be serenaded by the mesmerising Kathryn Rollins. Check out the synth-wave-drone-pop of Andrew Sinclair & The Ritual Band, the space-rock of Sugarpuss, the wackiness of Lyndon Blue’s Seams, and see Future Classic’s latest nu-disco signing Scenic.

There’s also alt-folk duo Wolves At The Door, vintage rockers Sonpsilo Circus and disco-boogie five-piece Bastian's Happy Flight. Closing the stage on the night will be grungy pop-rock band Emperors followed by the dirty garage-blues of The Growl.

Also gracing us is punk-folk royalty The Painkillers along with garage rock’n’rollers Cal Peck & the Tramps. This will be followed by dub fusion collective Masonik, swampabilly four-piece Rocket to Memphis and instrumental rock trio Day of the Dead. The Beach Boys tribute band Sea of Tunes will close out the stage from 9pm.

ARTS showcasing local and new innovative talent; FOOD representing the best of Beaufort Street’s cafĂ©, bar and restaurant scene; and FASHION from Beaufort Street’s quirky and off-beat boutiques.
