Carl Robert Pluss from New Zealand

Carl was in my room for five or six days. We had a chance to have several informal relaxed conversations. He talked a lot about his life in New Zealand, where he lived, worked, and about his family.

Job opportunities are much greater in Australia, and the salaries are higher. This is particularly true if you work with the oil and gas companies. In fact Carl has a job out in the desert with an oil company.

Right at the time that we met Carl was about to move into a much better job. In one of the desert location a cook was needed. Years back Carl had a two-year training as a cook; based on that he got the job. He seemed to be quite pleased about this new opportunity.

Relaxed, friendly, low-key, Carl is a good companion to spend a couple hours having a meal and a beer. I regret that somehow we did not spend enough time together. Although we talked about his growing up, I did not take notes and therefore my memories do not allow me to be specific. In any case I hope I will still have an opportunity to meet with him and to cover that time of his life in more details. Good luck Carl.
